The Tunnel of Wonders began like the first light of dawn—gentle, filled with promise, and quietly transformative. When was the last time you stood in front of a child’s drawing and truly felt their world? Not just the lines and colors, but the tiny whispers of their imagination—the dreams, the giggles, and sometimes, the unspoken fears tucked into every stroke.

​Nearby, the Comic Area told stories that only a child could dream of. Each frame, though small, was a portal to a world where rules are rewritten, and creativity reigns supreme. Parents stood silently, their hands lightly brushing against each other, their eyes brimming with pride.

The Dino Costume Zone was another world altogether—a space where giggles turned into roars, where kids and parents alike shed their inhibitions to become dinosaurs, even if just for a fleeting moment. Watching this, I couldn’t help but think: when was the last time we let ourselves be silly, just for the joy of it?

But what truly lingered in the heart was the Comment Area. Messages, handwritten with shaky pens or practiced strokes, lined the walls like a patchwork quilt of love. “You’re stronger than you know.” “Keep dreaming, little warrior.” These weren’t just words; they were hugs in disguise, traveling across miles and walls to reach children facing battles bigger than themselves.

And then there was the Read It Forward Initiative, made possible by the kindred spirits at BookXcess. Through this collaboration, every child’s artwork here became a seed of hope—turned into books, gifted to children undergoing treatment. Imagine a child, weary from a long day, opening a book and finding not just stories, but glimpses of a world that feels lighter, brighter, and more magical.

This journey would not have been possible without the unwavering support of parents, the tireless dedication of teachers, and the generous partnership with BookXcess. To all of you who walked these halls, who whispered “wow” under your breath, and who left with hearts a little fuller—thank you.

As the lights dim and the artwork is gently packed away, we’re left with something far greater than what we began with: a memory that glows quietly, like sunlight through wooden shutters.
